Why Dental Bonding?

Nothing makes us happier than seeing a patient walk out of our office grinning from ear-to-ear, and if that’s a thought that makes you purse your lips it might be time to come see us for a free consultation. Is that gap in your smile making you shy? Are a few stained teeth keeping you from opening wide? Is one small chip keeping your lips sealed? Dental bonding is an easy, affordable way to fix all of those things and let you go out into the world, confidently, with the great big smile you’ve been too afraid to show.

What is Cosmetic Bonding?

Quite simply, a dental bond is a durable, tooth-colored resin applied directly to your tooth. If bonding is what’s right for you, Walnut Creek cosmetic dentist Dr. Villaseñor will get to work using his natural artistic talents, mixing together a tooth-colored resin that is uniquely blended to match the exact shade of your natural teeth. Once that’s ready, he’ll make a small etch in your tooth before applying that custom color. Each layer of resin is dried using a high-intensity light and additional layers are then applied as Dr. Villaseñor sculpts the material meticulously to give you the precise look you desire, all while maintaining a smooth, natural feel.

The entire procedure’s fairly quick and simple, typically taking no more than an hour or two to complete. Cosmetic bonding can also be used to fix chipped or cracked teeth, especially to the tooth’s front (outward-facing) surface, or it can be used to lengthen and re-form teeth that aren’t a good match for the rest of your mouth. There is very little enamel loss when dental bonding is performed, and the procedure can be performed without sedation. Even better, dental bonding is covered under most basic insurance policies.
